CAS Blog Reflection 2

 CAS Blog Learning Outcome 2: During my Global Politics class I had to do the Political Engagement Project. This project was a challenge for me because it caused me to reach out and interview people about a certain political issue happening in Houston. For my topic I chose antisemitism in Houston so I spent a lot of my project reaching out to Rabbis in the Houston area or people in the Jewish community that teach a lot about antisemitism in Houston. Reaching out was a challenge for me because I didn’t have that much experience interviewing people and it was nerve racking for me to reach out and interview people. Despite this I pushed myself to reach out to as many people as possible and I was able to set up an interview with the people that I wanted and it ended up going really well. I had great conversations with the people that I talked to. The new skill that I learned was just learning how to reach out to people and how to have great conversation with someone that you are interviewing.

  CAS Blog Learning Outcome 1: I have been playing on my school golf team for a while. I had a tournament in the middle of February where I was pretty confident going into since I had been doing well with my swing on the driving range. Throughout the tournament most of my shots were good. I had great contact on most of my full swing shots and my drives were good the entire day. The only issue was my decision making. There were times where my ball went into the forest. Instead of playing it safe and chipping the ball onto the fairway. I got too confident since my contact on my swings had been good so I would try to send the ball through the trees and directly onto the green. This would result in my golf ball not traveling as far or hitting a tree and ending up in a worse place. Although my full swing was good the whole day, my chipping was terrible.
